New photovoltaic system

Producing in an ecologically neutral way by 2035 is HUECK FOLIEN's declared goal. The emissions of the Baumgartenberg plant are already close to zero today, and for several years the plant has been supplied with electricity from renewable sources.

Now a photovoltaic system has been erected on the company premises. A 400 kWp system was created to cover the peaks of the electricity demand of Hueck Folien itself. The output of this plant is equivalent to the electricity consumption of 100 single-family homes and saves over 100 t of CO2 per year. "With exclusively CO2-neutral power supply, we are taking the next important step towards ecologically neutral production," says Dr Martin Bergsmann, CEO of Hueck Folien.

The output of this plant is equivalent to the electricity consumption of 100 single-family homes and saves over 100 t of carbon dioxide per year. 900 state-of-the-art modules were installed on the site. Several charging stations for electric vehicles were set up at the company car park, which can be used by both customers and employees. "This is the first step towards ecologically neutral production," says Dr. Martin Bergsmann, CEO of Hueck Folien. "We are an important industrial company in the region and appreciate the general conditions in Baumgartenberg. That's why we are happy to take responsibility for the development of the region, its ecology and quality of life through resource-saving production."

Sustainability has been an important priority at Hueck Folien for years - for example, the proportion of solvent-based varnishes has been reduced to less than 50 %, and electricity consumption has been continuously reduced in recent years by switching to LED lighting and the thermal insulation of vacuum pumps. Lower electricity consumption and fewer business trips led to a reduction of the CO2 footprint by a further 3% in 2020 compared to 2019, despite higher sales.
